Electrical

      The electrical system in I.C.E. uses a car battery to power an air compressor and three pneumatic solenoids. The battery used is a 12 volt Optima 8014-045 D34/78 YellowTop Dual Purpose Battery, which has a capacity of 55 Ah. The power is controlled by an on/off switch, and has an emergency stop for extra safety. The air compressor used is made to work with 12 volt car batteries, making it ideal for this machine. It feeds into the air tank, and then the pneumatic system.

      The rest of the electrical system is an Arduino Mega, a channel relay, and three 2-way pneumatic solenoids. The Arduino Mega will control the solenoids, through the relay. It will gather the input signals from the Arduino and relay them to the solenoids. These signals will be how the rate that the cylinders stroke at are controlled. This allows the machine to operate in different modes, dictated by the user.
